The 10 Days of Dhul Hijjah: A Time for Reflection, Reward & Renewal

As the blessed month of Dhul Hijjah approaches, Muslims around the world prepare their hearts for some of the most sacred days in the Islamic calendar. Just like Ramadan has its last 10 nights, Dhul Hijjah has its first 10 days — days beloved to Allah, filled with incredible reward and opportunity.

At CoverMeCutee, we believe that modesty is more than just fashion — it’s a reflection of purpose, intention, and inner beauty. As we prepare spiritually, we also reflect it outwardly through the way we carry ourselves during these sacred moments.

🌿 What Is Dhul Hijjah?

Dhul Hijjah is the 12th and final month of the Islamic lunar calendar. It’s the month in which:

  • Hajj takes place

  • Eid Al-Adha is celebrated

  • The sacrifice (Qurbani) is performed

  • And most significantly, the first 10 days are considered the best days of the entire year in the eyes of Allah (SWT)

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:

“There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.”
(Bukhari)

🌸 Why Are These 10 Days So Important?

  1. Allah Swears by Them
    In Surah Al-Fajr, Allah says:

“By the dawn and [by] the ten nights…”
Many scholars interpret this to refer to the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah, highlighting their immense status.

  1. All Pillars of Islam Are Represented
Only in Dhul Hijjah do we find Shahadah, Salah, Sawm, Zakat, and Hajj all coming together in one time period — a unique spiritual convergence.

  2. Day of Arafah – A Day of Mercy
The 9th day, known as Yawm Arafah, is one of the most powerful days. Fasting on this day wipes out the sins of the previous year and the year to come.

  3. Eid Al-Adha – The Festival of Sacrifice
On the 10th day, Muslims around the globe celebrate Eid Al-Adha, a time of giving, sacrifice, and gratitude.

How Can We Maximize These Days?

Here are some ways you can make the most of Dhul Hijjah — inwardly and outwardly:

1. Increase in Dhikr

Say SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah, La ilaha illAllah, and Allahu Akbar often. These simple phrases carry massive reward during this time.

2. Fasting

Fasting the first 9 days (especially the Day of Arafah) is highly recommended for those not performing Hajj.

3. Giving Charity

Help those in need. Whether through money, food, or even kindness — every act of charity is magnified.

4. Dress with Intention

Even your modest wardrobe can reflect your mindfulness. Choose outfits that honor the occasion — graceful, clean, and modest — perfect for prayer, reflection, and celebration.

5. Seek Forgiveness & Make Du’a

Ask for forgiveness and reflect deeply. These are days when hearts are softened and duas are more likely to be answered.

🌙 Final Thoughts

The first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah are a divine gift — a chance to reboot our hearts, renew our connection with Allah, and prepare for the hereafter.

As you prepare spiritually, don’t forget to also show up beautifully and modestly — not for the world, but for the One who sees your heart and your intention.

May these days bring you barakah, forgiveness, and a wardrobe that reflects your faith inside and out. 💛
